OUR STORY
Let me introduce myself! My name is MyungHye (MH for
short), and I started Paper Russells in the San Francisco Bay Area in 2002,
along with my two Jack Russells, Java and Zoe. We wanted to send a
congratulations gift to a friend who’s Poodle just had an adorable litter of
pups, but we couldn’t find anything fitting to send. This was the inspiration
behind creating stationery and gifts for pet lovers. In 2012 we moved to
Ogden, Utah, and in the summer of 2022, we relocated in Portland, Oregon, the beautiful Pacific Northwest.
OUR PHILOSOPHY
We chose to remain a small, focused company, producing top quality cards and gifts that our customers won't find anywhere else. Rather than striving for expansion and volume, our passion is offering the best products, made in small batches from local sources here in the USA.
SMALL PRODUCTION
Paper
Russells carries over 1,000 products, based on over 500 original illustrations
of pets, other animals, and natural scenes. To keep all the products readily available for every order
was a massive challenge in the beginning, but we resolved the issue by using
high-quality, high-tech, and skilled digital press to create small batches. For example,
we only produce 20 Grrreen Box Note sets of specific design at a time and then assemble by hand in our Portland studio.
MORE THAN JUST RECYCLED
Our greeting cards and Grrreen Box Notes are made from premium 100% recycled (PCW),
heavyweight (100LB) cover stock which is Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)
certified. Additionally they are manufactured using 100% renewable green energy and Processed Chlorine
Free (PCF). Our DogPride and NatureCollection Cards are printed on
premium recycled paper which is 30% and 100% PCW content, 80LB cover, acid-free,
and produced with electricity offset with certified wind power certificates.
